4 a.m. Unusually, I woke up screaming from a nightmare. It's always nice to come around into a real life that's better than the dream. Pity the people who wake into the reverse. Cancer patients, for example.

When you open an Erdinger, it tastes like a whole new world, like going from monochrome to colour. The second bottle is never as good, so the trick is to stop after the first one, or in my case the first half-bottle. The guy in the photo is about to take his first sip.

  1. Sorry to hear you are having nightmares. I would too, I expect if I were currently able to sleep.

    Interesting bit of photo magic.

My nightmare is always the same.

I'm opening the batting for England. I'm on 99. Michael 'Whispering Death' Holding is about to bowl to me...and my bat disintegrates into dust.

The colour and black and white in that snap reminds me of the time I had an operation in hospital.

They advised me not to have anything to drink, especially alcohol, before the anaesthetic.

So afterwards, once I'd come round, I was obviously gasping. Went straight to the pub.

Well...after only one MGT I was seeing everything in black, white and red, just like that snap.

You'd think they would warn you about that sort of thing, wouldn't you?

  10. Mingers. It's fortunate you haven't sustained permanent damage.
