full time

Fair enough I suppose.

You could see the goal taking shape, beginning from the dodgy award of a goal kick at the other end, which put me off and I wasn't even playing. Without that decision, it was heading for penalties.

For me, the finest moments came after the whistle. The Dutch guard of honour, and decent fireworks.

PS. Has anyone ever seen Ramos and Harry Kewell in the same room? Or Robben and David Hayman?

  1. Albert? The spangos all looked like waiters and not properly grown up folk, and also cheating basturns every one. The Dutchy who put his boot straight into the chest of the spango got my award as man of the match. Have you ever watched womens' football. It's much better especially when they throw their tops off. Boots to the chest have added significance as well! Crap and boring and I watched it all, this world cup crap. Now for peace and quiet and sitting in the hut. I might be able to give up blogging the way you give up the footie when it's over, but you were never going to meditate anyway, so there's no point from this end really, except for thinking you are someone. 2. Hotters. First Mingers' blog was eaten by savages, now if you give up too, I win by default.

You're right about the kick in the chest of course. If you enjoyed that, you'd love the rugby league in Australia, where they replay the brawls in super slo-mo. I almost wish I lived there.

  5. I say!

All those yellow cards for ungentlemanly conduct - it just wasn't cricket, was it?

Physical contact is not allowed in cricket. It should be the same in every other game. Look what happened when contact was made recently http://www.cricinfo.com/pakistan-v-australia-2010/content/current/story/467275.html

I expect this obvious attitude towards physical contact stems back to the colonial days.

Anyway -- what about thiis offside rule? Anyone explain it?
